For the International traveler Forest Creek Lodge is an ideal place to relax and unwind after a long flight - a mere 130 km to the Kruger National Park, enjoy the treatments in the private Forest Spa, or just enjoy the tranquility of the bush.

Forest Creek is a Photographers paradise, with opportunities for getting up close with local fauna and flora. Being far from city lights, our night skies are so clear you will think you can touch the stars!!

There is a private Airstrip 8 km from the farm. We provide transfers from the Airstrip to Forest Creek Lodge.

We cater for small intimate weddings, a maximum of 14 people. These take place outside under the Gazebo. We provide all the food and beverages, accommodation, and decor for the function.

At Forest Creek you will dine on a d'hôte dinner served in our candle-lit dining room (Table d'hôte is a French phrase that literally means "host's table"), and have a choice of five-breakfast menus. We have a small menu for lunch. Weather permitting we will cook on the braai. For those who wish to hike lunch packs are available. For those who have special diets, we request that you inform us prior to your arrival.
The water at Forest Creek comes from a spring, and we bottle our own Forest Creek spring water. Forest Creek boasts a huge fireplace. Weather permitting, you can enjoy your meals and drinks outside on the veranda overlooking the valley.

Elephant Interaction

An elephant interaction at Elephant Whispers is a memorable and touching activity not to be missed. Visitors to the Centre experience life-changing moments when they encounter the elephants, the Elephant Whispers Team work hard to translate this into an understanding of the need for long-term, sustainable wildlife conservation, and elephant conservation in particular. Bookings must be made in advance.

Relax and unwind in our Forest Spa while breathing the pure mountain air, listen to the birds and the stream in the distance.

In our Forest Spa, we use the all-natural TheraVine and TheraNaka products, which are produced in the Cape. TheraVine has grown over the years and are now supplying customers on an International scale.

Choose from a range of over twelve treatments. Couples massages are available, so book some quiet time with your "better half".

Hiking Trails

One of our unique activities at Forest Creek are the Hiking Trails in the “Cloud Forest” due to the flora and fauna growing in this magical unique environment. The trails are designed for the entire family, and are most suitable for the even not-so-fit person. Under this canopy of trees and at the edge of the Mountain one feels very small, in comparison to the magical views.

The walk to the waterfall is approximately 2 kilometres, winding through the forest and criss-crossing the stream in several places under the canopy of large indigenous trees. One is likely to hear the baboons barking and spot the odd bush buck or red duiker and see the Cinnamon Doves, Narina Trogons and Louries that frequent the forest. In the wetter months the ferns, orchids and wild mushrooms offer spectacular opportunities for the more photographic inclined. The forest is an ideal stop for birders or to just relax and enjoy a picnic!
Scattered in the forest are remnants of old stone structures some of which are supposedly several thousand years old and are under study at present. The forest is beautiful, friendly and safe.

  • STAR GAZING PLATFORM - Relax under the night sky and enjoy the Magnificent Constellations, and shooting Stars.
  • JET SKI - Bring along your own Jet Ski and enjoy a day of fantastic skiing on the Kwena dam. The dam is 12km away and 1200 Hectares in size. Picnic’s available. There is no charge, and parking is available for your trailers and Ski’s.
  • BIRD WATCHING - We have a prolific variety of uncommon species of Birds that can be seen, including a resident pair of Black Eagles. We have a Forest Creek bird list.
  • MOUNTAIN BIKING - Bring your bikes and enjoy the off road cycling. Great views as you ride. A hard ride!
  • CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING - Try your hand at shooting the clays with our 12 gauge shot gun, Price per shot R25.00 (minimum of 25 shots)
  • DUCK TARGET RANGE - This is a fun little target range, shot with an air rifle. R50.00
